The application of architectural curtain wall in China began in 1984. After nearly 20 years of development, the annual output and ownership of architectural curtain wall in China have ranked first in the world.But in recent years, as competition has intensified, markets have saturated, prices have fallen and profits have shrunk, everyone in the curtain wall industry has been wondering: what kind of curtain wall does the market really need?The author thinks, the curtain wall product of energy-saving environmental protection type will be the darling of future market.


The frequent energy crisis and the deterioration of the living environment have made human beings deeply realize the importance of saving energy and protecting the environment.According to the requirements of China's building energy conservation and environmental protection policy, by 2000, the newly-designed heating residential buildings should reduce energy consumption by 50% on the basis of 1980 and 1981.Since 2005, new heating residential buildings should be built on the basis of another 30% energy saving;It will save another 30% of its energy in 2010.According to this requirement of the state, the energy - saving and environment-friendly curtain wall products have broad market prospects.


Some energy-saving and environmental protection measures currently adopted in the design and application of building curtain walls include:
(1) Hollow glass, especially LOW-E hollow glass technology

Ordinary white glass 6mm, with a k value of approximately 5w/㎡ k; 5+6+5 ordinary hollow glass, with a K value of about 2.6~3.5 w/㎡ k; If LOW-E insulating glass is used and filled with argon gas, the K value can reach 1.6~1.8 w/㎡ k. LOW-E insulated glass has obvious energy-saving and environmental protection effects, and can effectively prevent the thermal radiation of indoor heating from leaking out in winter; Summer can prevent external heat radiation from entering indoors. At present, the annual consumption of Low-E glass worldwide has reached 120 million cubic meters.

(2) "Thermal insulation bridge breaking" technology
At present, China has introduced two production process technologies and a complete set of specialized equipment, namely "injection molding method for cutting hot aluminum profiles" and "inlay method for cutting cooked aluminum profiles". Over a hundred thermal insulation aluminum profile production lines have been built in Shenzhen, Nanhai, Foshan, Xi'an, Qinhuangdao, Beijing and other places, with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons. In terms of market demand, the market share of insulated aluminum doors and windows has been continuously increasing in the past two years. According to statistics, the actual installation and utilization rate of insulated aluminum doors and windows in current commercial housing projects in Beijing has approached 46%, while in housing construction projects within the Fifth Ring Road in Beijing, this number has exceeded 70%.
(3) Double layer energy-saving curtain wall
The double-layer energy-saving glass curtain wall is mainly divided into internal circulation and external circulation systems, which have their similarities and differences. The common feature is that the greenhouse effect is formed between the double-layer glass, and the overheated air in the greenhouse is discharged from the outside in summer. In winter, the solar thermal energy is suspended and discharged into the indoor space, saving a lot of energy in winter and summer. It is necessary to use sunshade curtains in summer to prevent UV and strong heat radiation, with both internal and external circulation systems.
