Three Recognition Methods for One-way mirror and Ordinary Mirrors

Considering that any mirrors you have seen in your daily life may actually be one-way perspective glass, it is believed that these mirrors may appear in public toilets or other areas.

There are three methods below to determine whether it is a regular mirror or a unidirectional perspective glass.

Identification method for unidirectional perspective glass:
1. Conduct nail testing
The first method of examination is to perform a simple "nail test". Stick the nails onto the reflective surface (mirror surface). If there is a gap between your nails and the mirror, it is likely a true mirror. However, if the nails are placed on a mirror and it appears that the fingers are directly touching the fingers in the mirror, it is likely to be a one-way perspective mirror. Depending on the size of the mirror, the angle of suspension, and the lighting in the room, this test may be unreliable, which is why you should not make assumptions immediately.

2. Facing the mirror
Another method is to approach the mirror with your eyes as close as possible, and then block the light outside your eyes with both hands. If you think you are facing a one-way perspective mirror, you should be able to see an open area behind the mirror.

3. Use a flashlight on your phone

Turn off the lights and look in the mirror with a flashlight, so you should be able to see if the mirror is a one-way perspective mirror, as you can see the other side.
