Generally speaking, in American countryside style decoration, many people choose colored glass as the bathroom, which not only satisfies the pastoral style of American countryside, but also meets the functional requirements of the bathroom. It is both beautiful and practical, and is deeply loved by people. Colored glass decoration can be applied to windows, curtain walls, murals, partitions, as well as lampshades, lightboxes, and handicrafts, creating a rich color palette in Eastern art. The line passes through colored glass and enters the room, becoming very colorful and creating some wonderful effects. Light and shadow showcase the powerful charm of colored glass.
The Difference Between Glass and Colored Glass
1. Glass is a non all inorganic material, structurally an inorganic thermoplastic polymer that can be formed at temperatures above 650 ° C. After cooling, it has characteristics such as transparency, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and pressure resistance.
The thermal expansion coefficient of glass is lower than that of steel, making it a poor conductor of electricity and heat, and a brittle amorphous material.
Specific gravity: 2.46 to 2.5 straight line. Inflation coefficient: 910x10-6/oc (350oc). Specific heat: Practical surface tensile strength: 500kgf/cm.
2. The term "glass" originated in the Tang Dynasty, which refers to the addition of lead oxide to glass raw materials and is called crystal glass. The proportion of lead oxide added varies according to the customary definition of different countries. Generally speaking, when the proportion of lead oxide reaches 24% or more, the transparency and refractive index of glass are both good, and it is also heavier and softer, making it very suitable for firing into exquisite glass artworks. When European and American countries talk about crystal vessels, they generally refer to the use of this type of crystal glass material, which is more expensive than ordinary glass. Artificial glass "glass" is glass, but it is made very crystal clear by adding lead.
Characteristics of Colored Glass Partitions
Colored glass partitions are mainly made of colored art glass, using dreamlike color changes to create extraordinary artistic effects. Therefore, when choosing colored glass partitions, the most important thing is that the color tone should be consistent with the overall decoration style of the room. It must be emphasized that when the area of a single piece of glass is too large (such as exceeding 1 square meter), there are significant safety hazards from an architectural perspective. Therefore, while not affecting the overall effect, the glass should be cut into small pieces as much as possible, or the frame ratio should be appropriately increased to reduce the probability of glass being hit. If you can find satisfactory colored laminated glass, it is also a good choice. The hazy and almost luxurious effect of sandblasted carved glass partitions is incomparable to other types of products. Carving and sandblasting glass partitions also have the most stringent material requirements. Industry insiders point out that glass partitions generally require raw glass with high strength and excellent safety performance to be made. Tempered glass and laminated glass can meet its requirements. But when glass is carved, the strength of tempered glass will sharply decrease, and even surface scratches will have such an impact. When the stress increases, these defects come into play, most commonly causing glass cracking. Therefore, using tempered glass to make engraved patterns Sandblasting partitions are not appropriate, and other types of glass such as interlayers should be used instead.
The Production Method of Colored Glass
Firstly, it is necessary to draw a smaller sketch of the window - usually a watercolor painting - for the client to confirm, and then draw a full-size pattern or base map to illustrate the shape, color tone, and position of the lead bars used to fix the glass. Then remove the pattern from the base image, place it on colored window glass or white glass, and cut the pattern.
Next, an image can be drawn on a portion of the glass and grilled in the kiln to blend the pattern with the glass.
Then embed the glass into the lead groove (i.e. lead frame) and weld the joint. Assemble lead sealed glass blocks for easy handling.
Finally, install each piece of glass onto the iron fence or support frame of the window. The geometric pattern formed by lead bars and brackets is part of the overall design of the window.
