The Flemish Centre for Modern Glass Art, located in the town of Rommel, Belgium, boasts a dazzling glass cone tower. The appearance matches the function of the center, displaying information, services, exhibitions, and production information about glass in all aspects. Buildings use glass in innovative and diverse ways.
The glass tower adopts a stainless steel structural frame, with a triangular ultra white glass outer skin, and a spiral shaped falling body that reaches a height of 15 meters from the tower body. The entire glass cone tower is decorated only with black, white, and different shades of gray (35% gray and 45% gray).
The tower protrudes from the top of the glass cube building on the ground floor, and the bottom falls to the ground floor. The maximum diameter is 8 meters, the height is 30 meters, and it is clearly visible from a distance. But thanks to its transparent exterior and lightweight structure, he is not an oppressive presence towards the city. At night, the dot shaped light-emitting diodes arranged along the glass ribs on the conical tower make the tower bright yet visually impactful.
The tower protrudes from the top of the glass cube building on the ground floor, which is an exhibition space that attracts people to enter.
